Khaldoun Hijazin, MFA '14, has been named Artistic Director of the National Gallery of Fine Arts in Amman, Jordan. 

Sarah “Val” Valente, Assistant Director of Student Affairs, moderated a panel discussion on Artistic Narratives and Social Engagement with Karen Hampton, MassArt faculty, Jhona Xaviera, SMFA alum, Naledi Masilo, NEC student, and Ameya Okamoto, SMFA student. Panelists addressed how their journeys, heritage, and our current moment amidst a pandemic and the growing Black Lives Matter movement impact their creative practices particularly as artists of color. This was one of four panels on socially engaged artistic practices. Recordings will be available at a later date at
