The Museum of Fine Arts, Boston is home to an encyclopedic collection; the second largest in North America. SMFA students, faculty, and staff interact with the Museum of Fine Arts on a daily basis, studying works that have changed the course of art history while working closely with an extensive community of arts professionals stretching from curators and historians to visiting artists and conservators.
The School and the Museum collaborate on joint exhibitions and programming at both venues. SMFA students and alumni exhibit their work in the Museum each year during shows specifically designed to feature the SMFA community and offer critical early-career support. The Museum also offers a number of student employment positions and internships each year allowing students to gain experience alongside leading curators and conservators.
In addition, the Museum supplies Tufts with long-term loans of objects to enhance its teaching mission, and Tufts has a permanent seat on the MFA Board of Trustees.
