Visit & Connect: Graduate Programs
Graduate Campus Visit
Join us on campus for an introduction to our graduate community, our specialized art facilities, and our graduate studio spaces. This tour will include both the Fenway and Mission Hill buildings and typically lasts 90 minutes.
Please review our visitor guidelines below before registering for a campus visit.
Visitor Guidelines:
- Visit Registration: Registration is required to visit the SMFA Fenway campus as there is no self-guided tour option. The Admissions office is only open on the days we offer campus tours, as the SMFA at Tufts Graduate Admissions team travels throughout the year to meet with prospective students. If you do not find a campus visit that works with your schedule, please reach out to smfagradadmissions@tufts.edu or call 617-627-0077 to schedule a visit.
- Arrival on Campus: Please stop by the security desk upon arrival for directions to the Admissions office. We recommend arriving approximately 15 minutes before your program begins.
Graduate Virtual Information Session
Join this live virtual presentation to learn about our MFA, MA in Creative Practice, and Post-Baccalaureate programs. We’ll feature student and faculty work and highlight the opportunities our students have to collaborate with faculty members on local, national, and international projects. We’ll discuss how our students take advantage of our multi-disciplinary studio access, the resources of our tier-one research university, and our partnership with the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. We’ll also cover the application process and portfolio requirements, so bring your questions!

National Portfolio Day Events
National Portfolio Days, organized by the National Portfolio Day Association throughout the year, provide an opportunity for you to meet with representatives from graduate art programs and receive valuable feedback and guidance on your portfolio before you submit it as part of your application. All events are free and open to the public. When you visit SMFA’s booth, you’ll leave with portfolio feedback and an idea of how you and your art practice will fit into our unique program. Educators, school counselors, and career advisors are also invited to attend and gather information and brochures from university representatives.
SMFA at Tufts Graduate Admissions will be attending many of the domestic and virtual National Portfolio Days this year. Check the schedule to find a National Portfolio Day in a city near you or register to meet us from anywhere in the world at an Online National Portfolio Day.
