Julie S Graham lived and worked in Boston. Her work focused on recognition of places and things that are normally overlooked. Inspired by vernacular architecture, her series of works sprung from moments or fragments that are often unseen or hidden. This work refers to moments of juxtaposed forms upon which time, nature and humans have either intentionally or accidentally made their mark. Whether in industrial outskirts, working-class urban areas or temporary shelters around the world, unplanned patterns of form, textures, light and color reflect the character of local cultures and the passage of time.
