Mags Harries: Sculpture, Installation, Grad Advising

MFA Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, IL ('70); Diploma, Leicester College of Art and Design, England ('67)

Currently teaching Sculpture/ Installation/ Grad Adviser. 

For the past 10 years, worked in collaboration with architect Lajos Heder forming Harries Héder Collaborative. 

Exhibits include: Neuberger Museum, Peabody Essex Museum, Cardiff Bay Art Trust, Wave Hill, NY, Terry Dintenfass Gallery, NY; Barbara Krakow Gallery,, DeCordova Museum and Sculpture Park, MA; Photokina, Cologne, Germany; M.I.T. List Visual Arts Center, MA; Institute of Contemporary Art, MA

Installations/performances: Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority; Art Park, NY; La Jolla Museum of Art, CA; First Night, Boston; and Honolulu Academy of Art , Scottsdale Museum of Art AZ, Peabody Essex Museum, National Park Service projects on the Bronx River NY, Permanent public commissions in Boston, New York, Arizona, Kentucky, California, Florida, Philadelphia amongst others. Recent finished commissions in Kansas City, Phoenix and Hangzhou China, Commissions in process in CA, NC, PA and China. 

Awards: PAN awards in 2012, 2008, 2005, 2004, 2002. International Waterfront Center Design Awards 2007, 2006. Valley Forward Awards, AZ 2012, 2010, 2005, Awards Design Excellence Award for Public Art in Transportation, National Endowment/U.S. Dept. of Transportation; Honor Award for Design Collaboration, Boston Society of Architects; Governor's Design Award, MA; and a Civic Award for artist educators from the Mayor of Boston.
