In this culminating event of the Health Safety and Sustainability Award, four teams of students will present projects that they developed in the past months, including: an interactive installation that illustrates the scale of water use in the production of everyday consumable goods by Dani Coates; a large-scale sculptural installation grown from mushroom mycelium and painted/stained with natural inks by Muriel Horvath; HUGS: a Hydroponic Upstart Gardening System for SMFA by Flor Delgadillo and Kim Tran; and a program centered around collecting and creating natural dyes, inks, and paints which can be used to generate eco-friendly art, by Marisa McCarthy and Ned Carlson. The public attending this event will be involved in a Q&A and will have the opportunity to share feedback on the teams' proposals. The teams compete for the HSS Award ($ 1500.00).
