Cut, Fold, Make: Laser-Cut Paper Design - Workshop

Paper is one of the most readily available artistic materials and is perfect for testing out ideas, making models, experimenting with form and even creating finished artwork. In this workshop, students with no previous experience with laser cutting can learn to quickly draw shapes in the computer that will be cut in paper. From there, the paper can be transformed from 2D to 3D using personal image collections as a starting point for inspiration. Folding, gluing and other paper construction techniques will be shown so students can experiment to create design prototypes, small scale sculpture, and paper patterns.
