Wheel Throwing and Saggar Firing: Advanced Beginner

For students who have had an introductory experience working on the potter's wheel and now want to strengthen and refine their technical skills, as well as develop one's voice in creating clay vessels. This course will focus on repetition, production, and creating a variety of forms to become more confident in throwing forms with thinner walls. Through critiques and discussions, students will be encouraged to look at the forms with more critical eyes and develop more artistic expression in making vessels. During the last 3 classes we will learn and do a Saggar fire workshop. Level: advanced beginner.

Any materials necessary for the first class meeting will be communicated to enrolled students by the instructor in advance. Otherwise, materials and supplies will be covered in the first class meeting.
