This one-day, hands-on, online workshop will cover the basics of augmented reality (AR) – what it is and how it is used in various industries including the arts – and get you started building your own augmented reality experiences. Through lectures and technical instruction, you will explore the basics of the z-axis in a rapid prototyping, open-source environment that you can bring back to your studio practice as well as play with in your living room. Requirements: Laptop with a Chrome browser and video camera/microphone (for Zoom), and an AR-enabled smart-phone. No fancy equipment or expensive platforms needed. One hour lunch break.
