Alex joined the SMFA Development team in 2012. Prior to that, she worked in several curatorial and managerial roles at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, and curated exhibitions including Figure/Fabric/Fantasy: Selections from the Jean S. and Frederic A. Sharf Collection of Fashion Drawing (2012), Beauty as Duty: Textiles and the Home Front in WWII Britain (2011), and Designing the Modern Utopia: Soviet Textiles from the Lloyd Cotsen Collection (2006).

A passionate generalist since birth, her curiosity led her to study philosophy, religion and biology (Colgate, BA’91), before receiving a graduate degree in medieval art history (MU-Columbia, MA’97). SMFA’s cross-disciplinary environment makes her feel right at home!
