Floor van de Velde
Biography
Floor van de Velde (b. Belgium) is an educator and cross-disciplinary artist whose work explores the reciprocal relationship between art and technological innovation. As a ceaseless experimenter in sculpture, light, and sonic art, she gravitates towards precision-oriented, systematic, and reductionist approaches to art-making.
Floor received a MS in Art, Culture and Technology from MIT, and currently teaches 3D + Performance at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts. She is also a Co-Provocateur of San Francisco-based art collective Nighthouse Studio, an art collective that creates large-scale interactive and permanent light installations that interface with architecture and landscape design.
