Biography

Jerel Dye has been creating award winning art and comics in the Boston area since 2009. He has illustrated several graphic novels, including Science Comics: Computers, 2025 and Einstein in 2022, listed as one of the top 10 graphic novels of the year by ALA Booklist. He has also produced dozens of self-published mini comics and created comics stories for numerous anthologies. Including the award winning Little Nemo/Winsor McCay tribute Dream Another Dream. Jerel's work has been featured in numerous art collection books such as Sketching from the Imagination: ScifiRobot Envy: Zenith and Graphite Magazine. Jerel Dye shows work, runs workshops and panels regularly at events like MICE, SPX, TCAF, NYCC and more, and has been at active member of the Boston Comic Arts Foundation for several years.

His art stems from an interest in science and technology though frequently contains a healthy dose of wonder. Jerel Dye received his BFA from Umass Dartmouth in Painting, and his MFA at MassArt in the Studio for Interrelated Media. Jerel has been teaching courses in comics, drawing, and illustration for over 15 years at various art centers, schools and universities such as The Eliot School, MassArt, SMFA at Tufts, RISD, Leslie University, Hasbro, and others.
