John Huckins is a New England based artist holding a master's degree in Metal from SUNY New Paltz and a BFA from Maine College of Art. His artwork deals with the psychology of perceived objecthood embedded in functional objects; creating things that provoke questions about the objects of everyday life. Ranging from jewelry to structural steel, blacksmithing to cookware, historic restoration and contracted metalwork, John has dedicated his practice to understanding and employing skill sets grounded in metalsmithing, building, and education.
