Katy Scott-Harvey
Katy Scott-Harvey (she/hers) is a lens-based artist from Missoula, Montana. After receiving her BA in Fine Art Photography from the Glasgow School of Art in 2019, she began working as a Photography Technician at the GSA. She soon discovered her passion for helping students achieve their creative aims through technical education. Most recently, Katy has worked in the Media Studio at the GSA, providing equipment and support for video, audio, and photo practices. Katy’s art practice explores the fallibility of personal memory and collective history using images, film, text, and archival materials to examine what it means to create a national identity based on myth and misremembrance. She made the move from Scotland to Boston in the fall with her husband and their dog, Abe, and is excited to be a part of the SMFA community!
