She moved to Massachusetts in 2021 to pursue her MFA at Massachusetts College of Art and Design, where her work examined how her memories of her homeland have influenced her perception of nature in Boston. Upon completion of her MFA in 2023, Kierra is now employed at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts as the Administrative Coordinator.
The landscape possesses an ongoing relationship between nature and mankind. Growing up in Arkansas, I developed a close relationship with nature as it had become a spot of play and rehabilitation. I see nature as a physical environment and a living entity with its own spirit and personality. When I moved to Massachusetts in 2021, I began using oil paint to capture moments and places that emitted the same aura as my homeland.
My artwork serves to bring awareness to nature's mystique and encourage others to see the world around them with a fresh perspective. I aim to convey the deep bond I have formed with nature. I behold a visual representation of my personal relationship with the landscape and a celebration of the wonders and enchantment of the natural world.
