Maiyah Rivers
As the Assistant Director for SMFA Student Life, Maiyah leads the development and implementation of programs, advises student organizations, and operationalizes campus events to support the diverse SMFA student experience to ensure student participation, civic engagement, and promote a sense of community and belonging.
Maiyah comes to us from Brown University where she served as Assistant Director of Education and Public Engagement at the Center for the Study of Slavery & Justice (CSSJ). She has published and spoken extensively and co-curated numerous exhibitions. She also has teaching experience. Maiyah holds a Bachelor of Arts in Art History from Eastern Connecticut State University and a Master of Arts in Public Humanities from Brown University.
