Biography

Matthew Finn is a professor and full-time art director living in Warwick, NY. Prof. Finn started his design career after receiving his B.F.A. in Graphic Design from Western Michigan University in 1999. For over 10 years he worked as a graphic designer, lead corporate designer and art director in a variety of professional settings in Michigan, Washington D.C., Georgia and New York. His design experiences have encompassed the print, web and interactive environments. Prof. Finn’s clients ranged from non-profit organizations to major for-profit organizations such as Feeding America, USPS, US Chamber of Commerce, The Home Depot, Kraft Foods, Comcast, Pfizer and many others.  

In 2010, Prof. Finn received his M.F.A. in Graphic Design from Savannah College of Art and Design. Since graduation, Prof. Finn has taught graphic design at the University of North Florida, St. Thomas Aquinas College, William Paterson University and Marymount Manhattan College. Prof. Finn currently works as a full time art director at Optima Group where he designs for many of the leading financial consulting firms. Prof. Finn actively presents at various design conferences speaking on a wide range of teaching and design related topics. He also continues to research sustainable design practices and exhibits his art and design work.
