Rehearsal For Encountering
Rehearsal for Encountering is my attempt to speculate a proposal for a cohabit space through looking at reverberation of inter-cultural contact in history and the related theoretical texts. In mid-19th century, groups of Asian indentured laborers were brought to the plantations in the Caribbean where they labored and shared life with enslaved people from Africa. In the film, I tried to bring forward movements to intervene the filmic space- sound, narrative structure, and imagery.

Poem For My Parents
This is my first time writing a poem and goes out to my parents and other daughters and children of immigrants. This poem serves as a call to action to be prideful of our fight and of where we are today after all the difficulties we've endured. This is an act of healing, gratitude, and pride.

how the fuck do I cook for one?
In my work, I form images that give me a sense of placement, or otherwise speak to the dissociative feeling of being between homes; they articulate the interplay between physical environments, togetherness, and bodily love. This is a cooking show but also a personal remembering of my home and family, the way my upbringing plays out in my strained relationship with my own body and the bodies I consume.
