The SMFA Communications Team has been working for the past 18 months on a new logo for the School of the Museum of Fine Arts. We are delighted to give you a first peek.

For many years, the SMFA logo was a variation on the logo of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. When the Museum School officially became a part of Tufts University’s School of Arts and Sciences in 2016, we were obliged to design a temporary logo in very short order. 

From the beginning, the goal was to replace that logo with one that represents everything great about SMFA--our unique history, mission, and philosophy of education--as well as the benefits of being a part of a top-tier research institution. 

Faculty, staff, students, and alumni were consulted along the way, and we are delighted to share the results:
