Minors
Minors allow you to immerse yourself in a secondary field in addition to your academic program in Studio Art.
Minors are cohesive groups of four or more courses totaling at least 15 credits. Minors are optional and BFA students can minor in multiple areas or in none at all. Please note that minors for all Tufts undergraduates appear only on your official transcript; they are not printed on your diploma.
Minors Available to BFA Students and Requirements
As a BFA student, you can earn any undergraduate minor in the School of Arts and Sciences except Studio Art. Studio Art minors are not allowed for BFA students as the requirements significantly overlap with your BFA course of study.
Minors available run the gamut from Computer Science to Museums, Memory, and Heritage. Popular minors include:
- Africana Studies
- Architectural Studies
- Child Study and Human Development
- Dance
- Food Systems and Nutrition
- Music Engineering
- Peace and Justice Studies
- Political Science
- Religion
- Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies
. . . and much more

Note: Students may apply up to two courses toward both their BFA degree requirements and a minor. Please direct any questions regarding your program requirements to your academic advisor.
