Building Backwards features the work of forty-eight undergraduate students who completed the Senior Thesis Program. This exhibition is on view May 8-19 at SMFA at Tufts. A reception will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2024 from 5-8 pm at SMFA.

The 2024 Senior Thesis exhibition Building Backwards at SMFA features the work of forty-eight graduating BFA and Combined Degree seniors in the Atrium, Courtyard, Anderson Auditorium, and Grossman galleries across the SMFA campus. Showcasing work from the school’s areas of study including Ceramics, Digital Media, Fibers, Film, Graphic Arts, Installation, Metals, Painting & Drawing, Performance, Photography, Print & Paper, Sculpture, Sound, and Video & Animation, the exhibition is an opportunity to share capstone projects in an undergraduate art education with University and external publics.
 
Senior Thesis is organized by SMFA Faculty Soulé Déesse, Angelina Gualdoni, Megan McMillan, Ethan Murrow, Pam Pecchio, Kurt Ralske, and Teaching Assistant Niko Krivanek, in collaboration with the Tufts University Art Galleries.
